Saw 3

Last night i went out and saw the season premier of saw 3. It was pretty gruesome. Complete with brain surgery, chopped up pigs, throat slashing, limbs twisted, rib cages opened, a foot being bashed in and gun shot wounds!

Its pretty cool that leigh whannel (screenwriter for all 3 films) can pump out such awesome movies in only 3 years. The plot twists in this one rival the first, and obviously they upped the anti on the gore.

I give it a good solid 4 out of 5.

I have two midterms and tons of papers coming up. i'm screwed.

Tonight i get to hang out downtown with pippy longstocking. That didn't seem wierd until i wrote it down.

We may be done with the past, but its not done with us

I watched Magnolia for the first time today, and i can't stop thinking about it. I would be astonished if alot of people out there actually liked this movie, since its not very hollywood friendly (although it has a pretty big budget and it has a huge cast).

The best part of the movie is when one of the characters says "this is stupid", then snorts cocaine and starts to sing this really sad song. the film then jumps through each character and they all sing a couple lines in the song. Very much like a musical, but sadder then a musical could ever make me feel. It sounds really stupid in words but it was actually touching. but you'll have to see it to feel it.

Things fall down, people look up, and when it rains, it pours.

And then the frogs come tumbling down.

The Grudge 2

Its funny, horror movie sequels suck. Suck the money right out of my wallet. If my friends ditched me completely on that principal alone i'd understand. Anyway, the grudge 2 scared the crap out of me, but then again i'm a baby. by any normal horror movie fanatics standards this movie isn't scary at all. Theres just something about japanese inspired horror films that give me the creeps.

Although i did like how the movie was spliced up so the timeline is slightly messed, but if your gonna do that you better have a surprise ending. or at least a scary, dragged out ending. but nope, it ends, nothings resolved, your left not wanting more, just your money back. and that is the worst feeling.

In short it gets points for using a crazy timeline, thus keeping me somewhat intrigued with the plot. It loses points for the lack gore like the first one. or sarah michelle gellar.

I want to see movies of my dreams

I've been bitter all week, which is a shame, but i'm feeling much better now. I got a better mark on my sociology, i had friends over yesturday and i made spaghetti, and i don't have school on monday.

I love people who use the phrase "you need to hear this song"
I love a good pop song as well.
and 24
and cars by built to spill
and deer sausage
and my house
and my friends
and even my faith, as bruised as it is.

So my goals for this week:
say "bit of terrific" whenever the opportunity arises
record acoustic covers, even if i cant hit all the notes
make a turkey
stand on a chair
make an andy kauffman pose whenever i start to feel angry
throw "blaze my can" in a conversation.
be pretty on the inside

My weeks looking up already
