Slow Dancing In A Burning Room

So heres a run down of whats been up with me and all my friends.

1. My Roomate Trevor proposed to Melissa Saturday morning, so i'm very excited for the both of them.
2. Morgan Is going to be apart from his girlfriend for the first time since they started going out, so that'll be two weeks of agony for the rest of us in the house i'm sure.
3. Brent is visiting his parents, but he'll be back tomorrow where he'll start his summer job as a window washer with trevor, morgan and
4.Tyler is on choir tour for two weeks, but then he'll come back and be his usual annoying self.
5.Stophers needs to find a job fast. and hopefully not one that he sits behind a computer for.
6.Chris and Jay left for tree planting this morning, so i wont see them for 3 months, and jay is only coming home for a few days in august, then he well be gone until the following september (08) so thats sad.
7. Which brings us to me, who will spend the next 4 months working as much as possible so that i can afford school. So the house of 8 will never be together under one roof again. and i think thats kinda sad, but as Chris so elegantly put it, from one legacy to the next!

The Thrill Is Gone

My soul thinks this video is beautiful. it also really likes the term "clunky piano"

So i deleted my Facebook account. As most people have figured out about me i'm not a huge fan of people being able to talk to me. naw, you gots to work if you wanna track me down. having everyone call me skoch is awesome for that, since ten years down the line no one will remember who Dave is. mu hahaha.

Disturbia was actually a pretty good film, 3/5 type stuff, but that supercedes all my expectations.

So heres my life up to date:

School is almost done, had an exam today with two more to go, then i start my summer job on may 1st doing security. My current Roomate Van Denberg has an aunt who in may is coming to calgary to buy a house that has a basement with two bedrooms in it for me and v dub. on top of that v dubs grandpa is coming as well in order to built a kitchen and a bathtub in the basement (if the basement doesn't already have one)
meaning i'll probably be spending about 100 more dollars on rent, but i will have free internet, phone, cable, plus my own room, plus i'll be closer to the school, plus Chris aunt has a vehical he can drive when she doesn't need it.
oh. in case anyone is wondering i'm applying to get into the music program at rmc, so if i get in i'll be at rocky for another three years.

and thats me up to date!!!

Hobo with a Shotgun

So i have a massive headache due to the 3+ hours i spent in the theater watching Grindhouse, but i regret nothing.

In American cinema convention is rarely broken. Even in movies as fantastic as say, Crash or the Lord of the rings trilogy, its not like they uncovered any new ground.

Now i'm by no means saying Grindhouse was better then Crash, i'm just pointing out that there both great movies for completely different reasons. Crash is a sensitive Drama that was well acted and proclaimed an important message. Grindhouse was a sleevefest with ample amounts of Gore (although very little nudity, surprisingly). But Grindhouse was a cinematic experience that is so rarely created in Hollywood.

With literarly hundreds of pop culture references, cameos by Nicolas Cage and Bruce Willis, Quentin Tarentino dialogue that is totally irrelevent to the plot, Fake trailers and commercials, Reels that seem fairly damaged, and reels that are missing entirely.

Grindhouse is specifically crafted to give the viewer the "old 70's cheap theater" feel that i didn't even know existed before hearing about this film. and did i mention its gory?

Tarentino kicks Jackson in the nuts while rodriguez holds him down. figuratively speaking.
